Born in 1988, Nathanaël Gouin began studying piano and violin at the age of four. He worked first with François Chaplin at the Conservatoire de Rouen, then at the Conservatoire de Toulouse for 9 years. He saw his first stage experience at the age of 10, as a soloist with the Toulouse Chamber Orchestra. In 2007, he joined the CNSMD in Paris in the class of Michel Beroff and Denis Pascal, and spent a semester at the Juilliard School in New York working with great personalities such as Maria-Joao Pires, Jean-Claude Pennetier, Menahem Pressler and Pierre. -Laurent Aimard, Elisso Wirssaladze or Christoph Eschenbach.
Revealed to the international attention by his victory, in 2009, at the Johannes Brahms Competition of Portschäch in Austria, he is the guest of many rooms and festivals in France and abroad – Orangeries de Sceaux and Bagatelle, Folle Journée de Nantes, La Roque d’Anthéron, « Cité de la musique » , etc. – and performs regularly with orchestra.
Passionate about chamber music, he gave numerous concerts with artists of his generation, particularly with the violinist Guillaume Chilemme, with whom he recorded a disc of Sonatas by Ravel and Marguerite Canal. Also a partner of Claire Désert, Jean-Claude Pennetier, Fabrice Millischer (with whom he has also recorded two records) and the Voce Quartet, he founded the Werther Trio with which he has distinguished himself at the Barcelona Maria Canals Competition and at the Music Competition. of Lyon. Accompanying many lyric artists, Nathanaël Gouin is also a composer and creates during his concerts his pieces for piano and various instruments. Winner of the Banque Populaire Foundation, he is currently in residence at the Queen Elisabeth Chapel in Belgium, where he receives advice from Maria Joao Pires.
