For the first time in its history, the T.W.O. commissioned a work. This is a concerto for oboe and wind ensemble composed by Gabriel Philippot. It will be interpreted by Alexandre Gattet.

The world premiere will take place on October 26 and 27, 2018, at the Auditorium Saint-Pierre des Cuisines in Toulouse under the direction of Mathieu Romano.

Alexandre Gattet was seven years old when he began studying oboe. He obtained a Gold Medal at CNR Toulouse before entering the “Conservatoire de Paris” – CNSMDP where he won the First Prize in Chamber Music (1998) and oboe (1999).
First prize at the International Competition “Gillet” (USA-1999) and the Tokyo International Competition (2000), he participates in numerous festivals in France and abroad and has been invited as solo oboe in major international orchestras ( Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Bavarian Radio Orchestra, Budapest Festival Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra …).

He took up his duties as first solo oboe at the “Orchestre de Paris” in 2001. In 2002, he won the prestigious ARD competition in Munich.
